An Chéim provide the management information systems for all the Institutes of Technology in Ireland. An Chéim covers the management of student, library, finance, and Human Resource information. Its aim is to provide a proven best-of-breed system for the fifeteen Institutes of Technology. This system will improve services to staff and students, support new models of education delivery, and give the Institutes the flexibility needed to meet the educational challenges of the new millennium.

Challenge

To provide an integrated HR management solution with a common configuration overall which at the same time caters for the individual requirements and unique processes within each individual Institute.

Solution

The HR management contract awarded to Core International by An Chéim was one of the largest HR contracts awarded in Ireland. Central to An Chéim’s selection of the Core solution was Core’s unrivalled track record in implementing complex projects, on time and on budget, and the ability of Core to manage a large project with numerous dispersed stakeholders.

Liverpool Community College, a large general FE College, is the only further education sector college in Liverpool. The college services a community of 457,300 people. In 2004 the Audit Commission voted Liverpool the most improved LEA in the country. The college has a permanent staff of 896, comprising academic, technical and support staff as well as numerous employees retained on a part time basis.
