CoreHR was recognised at the 18th annual Great Place to Work Best Workplaces in Ireland awards held in Dublin on Wednesday 26th February 2020, organised by Great Place to Work Ireland. CoreHR was assessed both through Great Place to Work’s robust ‘Trust Index’ employee survey and also thorough ‘Culture Audit’ assessment of its policies and practices.
“Our whole company has been devoted to making CoreHR a tremendous workplace and our commitment to Great Place to Work remains an ongoing component of our people strategy,” said Dean Forbes, CEO CoreHR. “We can all enjoy this podium moment with pride and reflect on the tremendous effort of every employee across CoreHR.”
The Great Place to Work assessment of CoreHR includes many positive indicators. The vast majority of employees say there’s a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, a diverse and inclusive workplace and that the company constantly looks for better ways to serve its customers. Several recommendations were also made and 86 per cent of employees said they felt that CoreHR would act on these; in itself indicating trust in company management.
“It’s our fundamental philosophy that people create all value in our business,” said Barbara Dunlea, Senior People Experience Manager, CoreHR. “Being named one of Ireland’s best workplaces by Great Place to Work reflects the great culture of ‘One Team, One Vision’ that we have all built together.”
CoreHR has been undergoing a significant transformation since 2016, when founders and investors appointed a new top management team, including Forbes as CEO and Sharon Looney as CHRO.
“CoreHR today is demonstrating insightful and pioneering practices across all areas,” said Cathal Divilly, Partner at Great Place to Work Ireland. “The company knows exactly what it is, where it is going, and how to get there. Overall, CoreHR’s submission illustrates a success story in terms of its cultural transformation.”
Divilly continued: “The ‘war for talent’ is continuing apace with the best employers in Ireland competing for specific industry-critical skills. Reaching the criteria to appear on the list of Best Workplaces in Ireland is a massive achievement, and has provided a great platform for these organisations to differentiate themselves both externally and internally as employers of choice.”

About Great Place to Work and the Assessment Process
Great Place to Work Ireland is part of a global network of culture consultants, with offices in 48 countries. The key defining feature of a great workplace is the level of trust that exists within it. From an employee’s viewpoint, the definition of a great workplace is one where you trust the people you work with, you have great pride in what you do, and you enjoy the people you work with. The Great Place to Work Institute assesses the policies and practices in place in organisations under nine key areas: Inspiring, Speaking, Listening, Caring, Developing, Thanking, Hiring, Celebrating, and Sharing. They then benchmark these practices against other organisations in that country.
