Early in 2017, Financial Controller Anthony Troy and his team made the move from their legacy payroll system to the latest iteration of CoreHR’s revolutionary software.
Senior management at Wellman International wanted the best HR and Payroll solution possible to match the rapid growth they’d experienced. They were focused on upgrading their payroll process but also very enthused about the possibilities that CoreHR’s Employee and Manager Self-Service portals would deliver, as well as the business benefits that access to real-time people data and analytics would provide.
“We didn’t want to be in a position where get left behind so we knew that a cloud solution was the best fit to support our organisation’s current needs and our future plans,” Anthony explained. “It was 12 years since we’d last upgraded, and we needed to further secure the integrity of our payroll and future-proof our HR function, and we had heard great things about CoreHR’s cloud solution.”
For the upgrade process, Anthony and his team worked with their dedicated project manager in CoreHR. It took just four weeks for Wellman International to make the move to the cloud, transforming their legacy HR and payroll processes, into one that is seamless and fully automated.
“We had a great relationship with Clare, our project manager, and she had answers to all of our questions. She really helped to keep us on track and focused on the process. We could pick up the phone to her at any point and she made everyone’s job easier.”
Once the upgrade process was completed, the results were immediate. Because of the integrated nature of CoreHR, the accounts and payroll team are no longer snowed under with administration. Anthony estimates the savings aren’t calculable in hours, but in days.
“We are saving three days per month across our accounts team thanks to the upgrade,” he explains. “This results in our financial staff being able to concentrate on more value-added processes. This includes creating reports for management and handling tasks that are beneficial to the company as a whole”, Anthony says.
“With CoreHR’s Employee Self-Service, we can offer our employees a lot more flexibility when it comes to holidays and entitlements. They can manage their own leave and send in requests at the touch of a button, rather than taking time out of their day to come into HR."
Employee data and personal records are far more secure than the paper-based records Wellman International used to rely on. Data is stored in a BT Tier III Data Centre, the most secure option available in Britain or Ireland. That’s of huge importance with the advent of new data protection laws (GDPR) which comes into effect in May 2018 as a cloud-based solution is the best way of ensuring compliance.
